While I can't comment on this particular spring, I was in the park hiking last week and with all the rain/ snow we have had recently water was abundant. I do not believe you will have any issues.

That's awesome. I have been doing more motorcycle riding lately as I have a 4 month old and it's easier to sneak away for a few hours than a few days. Front Royal is a good out and back for me. I...
I flew into SLC and drove to Pinedale a few years ago. It was by far the most economic option and the drive was great (very scenic). This is the route I would take should I do it again.
Same here but I am usually so excited about a trip that I have my planned stops figured out months ahead of time
Haha that’s great. Thanks and yes baby and mom are both healthy.
Thanks again. I actually hiked Whitetop (Elk Garden) to Damascus over Xmas a few years ago. My plan is Elk Garden to Fox creek this year.
Thanks for the offer. My wife just had our first kid 3 weeks ago so my hiking will likely be at a minimum for a bit. That said, it was a boy and I’m looking forward to getting him started young as my...
Groundhogs here. I think they have a benefit with tarps as the tarps seem more likely to catch wind and the groundhogs hold really well (in my experience).
Good luck with the quilts. Just happened to notice you are from "Sudley, VA" and it caught my attention as I live off of Sudley Manor in Bristow.
Ha. Me three. Did a 21 mile day in the pouring rain on a cold October day,
popped my pad at the shelter just before the bridge and called it a trip the next AM. Still regret it but have since...
Glad you at at least made it to one.
did you make it to Raleigh? What an amazing show! This tour has been great. Enjoy Alpine Valley. After Raleigh, I am gonna have to get a day pass for Saturday at Lockin. Watching Long Strange Trip...
Awesome. I have a busy summer so I will only be able to make one show but driving down with my brothers that day and got a hotel for the night. My brother went to the Playing in the Sand shows down...
I will be at the show in Raleigh NC this year. Looking forward to it.
Sorry in advance to the OP on the thread drift.
You may already know this but if not, the golf ball looking thing is an FAA Air Route Surveillence Radar. Here is a pic of one on Mt Kokee in...
You are a grown adult, do whatever you want. If you come home and they tell you that you cannot live there any longer, be ready to accept that and have a plan B. Don't ruin your relationship with...
what is so far fetched about this? Certainly doable.
I'm wondering if this increase in marketing has anything to do with Ballast Point opening their East Coast Brewery in Daleville a few weeks ago. I like beers from both but would prefer Devils...
I use all MSR ground hogs.
Thornton Gap is MM35.
MM45- Hawksbill Loop. This is a short hike but one with an excellent view.
MM50.5- Rose River/ Dark Hollow Falls Loop.
Both easily doable in a few hours (at moderate pace).
Leaving my 11 year old dog I have had since 10 weeks old who can't hike more than 3 miles a day. I am planning a week in the Sierra Nevada this year but besides that I unfortunately haven't been out...
I park at US55 in Linden VA for a few days at a time often and have never had issues. This is just north of SNP. Good luck and enjoy the hike
I am not defending nor bashing. Just shedding some light on the situation. See here: https://backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/a-word-of-caution-regarding-lukes-ultralite/
Good luck on the hike. Starting a thread like this on an internet forum says all you need to know about the OP.
Just wanted to say I was there last late August and it was unreal. This year I'm heading to check out the Sierra Nevada for the first time or I would consider joining. Enjoy the trip.
