It appears they last about 6 years.
Was using it in April 2023 and noticed cracks on both sides of the handle around the bolt.
I seriously got my mileage out of it and bought another one. ...
Cool...hope it works for you.
I haven't done any real winter snow camping in a long time. I was in NM the end of April at about 8500' and it snowed for about 15 mins. around 2200. I loved it.
Pad: I use an Exped Ultra 5R medium wide.
It weighs 1lb 10.8oz and that includes the storage bag, schnozzle and repair kit. I've used it to the low 20s in a tent on the ground and never felt...
I've had similar thoughts but apparently it's working for them. Just not enough safety net for me.
I had a down jacket back in the late 70s and it seemed as if someone anywhere near me sneezed my down would ball up. HAHA Man that thing was a pain.
Leo you've living the dream being by the Alps. I'd love to get back to Lauterbrunnen. Maybe. I've seen a little bit of Europe...actually more of Europe than the US, so I'm trying to focus my trips...
Kind of interesting...I never really thought too much or put it on paper of how I sleep while camping. I know what works and I just do it.
Yeah I'm getting old...I'll be 66 soon...but still have...
Yep...understood.
I lay on my side and when necessary I cover my head with the top of the bag, then make a hole for my face. IE: face is uncovered/partially uncovered but all of head is covered....
Got the Badger MF the other day. Every stitch is perfect, every seam is perfectly aligned. The bag is a thing of beauty. It came with what looks like a 14L stuff sack and a large storage sack.
...
Ordered a Western Mountaineering Badger MF 15, 6'6", right zip from Moosejaw.
Leo here are a couple links to rides here in the US you might find interesting. These places sell maps and GPS tracks/routes:
Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) for Adventure Motorcycling...
Thanks Leo...those are good points. I didn't think of explaining this earlier but now I realize I should have: my riding will be on a dual sport bike, and I only get on the pavement as a last...
Thanks for the info.
One among many good things about Western Mountaineering is they make some bags as right or left zip. I want a right zip and that's one thing I won't comprise on.
The synth...
I’ve been away from all manner of camping for a few years and have never owned a quality down bag. Coleman Peak 1 bags always worked for me.
I have an Enlightened Equipment quilt that I’ve used...
Here's hoping your holds up.
I have the Tour Pack that's about 23 yrs old. Granted now I just use occasionally but for 2 solid years I wore it 4 days a week while cycling to work. The thing is...
Pants are sold.
I have a never worn out of the house only washed pair for sale in the classifieds here. Size XL 30" inseam VersaTac Lights.
As a civilian I've been wearing RR shorts for about 5 yrs and recently...
I have a Silky that I can't find...think the blade is about 10-12". Great saw and I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from them.
Frustrated, I just bought this one for $20.00 at Home Depot: ...
Do it...providing your doc says it's OK. My doc told me to do it along with about anything else.
I had total hip done in March 2016 at 59yo. I've led a pretty active life and apparently my body...

Finally made it to REI over the weekend and - purely subjective I guess - if just felt like the SMs would be more comfortable than the DTs. So I'll stick with the SM.
Salesguy times it just right...
I never gave it much thought or put it to pen until now...but I have way too many Smartwool socks. HAHA!
Thorlo and my feet do not get along. Just a personal thing but man do I hate the way they feel.
I even wear Smartwool when I ride my dirt bike (motorcycle).
I have a few pair of Smartwool cycling socks, and slippery is right. They're fine for riding, but walking...feels like my shoe is gonna shoot off my foot at any moment.
Obviously that's...
