I've often wonded about the shelf-stable items like bacon bits. The packages say to keep refrigerated after opening. How long will they last after opening when in the heat on the trail?

I have been packing a full bottle around in my work bag and have had no EVO leaks at all. Also, I found that the flip-top lids on the Wally World bottles also fit on the 4 oz. bottle in the package.
