Loft Mountain rarely fills up in April, unless the weather is very pleasant.

Mountain Crossings at Neel Gap announced today that their hostel is opening tomorrow, 2/25. The hostel has been closed for the last 3 years. The announcement was on their Facebook page.

Mount Washington has had a string of very nice days. It's 67 degrees right now, and there is almost no wind. All time record high on Mount Washington is 72.

I've done several trips in October through Georgia, and have really enjoyed them. Much of the time you will have sunny mild days and clear, possibly frosty nights. Bugs are gone by then.

I believe that the stripes on the lower left sleeve are service stripes. He may have gotten one for each year he was overseas.

I bet your Dad had some great stories.

The patch on the lower right sleeve is a meritorious unit commendation.

Looks like I may have been confused with Harvey's starting point on Saturday. It appears he covered around 47 miles, leaving him around 60 miles behind StringBean's pace.

Harvey covered 57.3 miles on Saturday, leaving him 50.2 miles behind StringBean's pace.

Harvey had a fairly short day yesterday, stopping at Mile 1471.8, which puts him 58.3 miles behind StringBean's pace. He is having a good day today, having already gone 40 miles.

I did a quick check, and it looks like Standing Indian at 5499 feet is the tallest mountain in this stretch.
