I really like my RAB vb socks. Work well with my trail runners. Even when it warmed up and my feet felt like they were on fire because they were so warm, my feet were never wet under them.

yeah after waiting 5 or 6 months I filed a claim through paypal and got my money back.
fourdogstoves.com makes really nice lids for them.
I actually found some shoes that work. Thank you. I often hike the PA/NJ sections of the AT, which if you've ever hiked that section, know it has a few rocks on the trail. Switching to such...
Those dirt roads are closed around it. There was water, it's a good 100yds away though but it's easy to find. Keep walking til you find the clean little pool. I was there 2 weeks ago.
Peter's does look great, too bad they're no longer available. The imitation one at rei looks way too small. My hat is more like Indiana Jones' hat than a baseball hat. The extra brim coupled with my...
I've got a big head and wear a wide brimmed hat. I can't seem to find one I can wear over my hat that comes past my chin. I even had one custom made and it's still too short. Wear does one find a...
Also, I have a find most 4E wides shoes fit best, but sizing up one on the topos, they fit perfect. Even with thicker socks on.
(why can't I edit my post????)
Topo is another good shoe co. that makes the wide toebox just like altra, except they're lighter and have a rock plate (on the trail runners, terraventure). They even have a waterproof version. I...
I called his phone number this morning. Someone called me back in 2 minutes asking if someone called at this number. I asked if this was lukesultralite. He sounded surprised and said that Luke was...
to be fair, in your original post, you said "Fully loaded backpack with 7 days food is at 20.5lbs" . Kudos regardless of the nitpicking.
Watching a zpacks hiking videos, Red Beard was talking about how Joe turned him on to Wigwam Triathlete socks. All my prior hiking socks were the wigwam ultimax socks so I tried them when I switched...
I have a zpacks fleece. I got mine when they were first offered, they were $115 then. Plus, I got it as a gift, so. Besides, it's a very nice jacket. It's surprisingly lightweight, and has a nice...
PS. his phone number is on the bottom of the homepage, not that he answers it or anything.
I ordered a rain suit 4 months ago. He hasn't returned any emails in 2 months. Injury or no injury, it shouldn't take 2 months to respond to an email. My quoted 8 week wait has now doubled, with no...
Oh and these fit inside them perfectly....

I like how waterproof the cuben is over the woven nylon dry bags. I too noticed it's hard to fit 6 days of food in there, plus once filled, it doesn't fit the arc blast too well. It's a narrow fit in...
I have the Catalyst, but once I went dropped my base weight to 12lbs, it was way too much pack. It really is a monster of a pack, good if you have a bulky sleeping bag/set of quilts. I just got the...
I don't have any decent stores like that around here. The other problem is, I don't really even know that many companies to look at, and my internet searching skills are quite bad.
I was looking at...
I'm new to the UL world and am trying to ditch the heavy leather boots for some trail runners. A friend of mine has the Altra lone peak 3's and he seemed to like them, so I got the mids. I thought it...
41oz is a lot for a 20* bag too. My 20* quilt weighs 16.5oz, and does the same thing.
Was the spring still flowing?
For a longer hike, I'd go with the lightweight one over the ultrasil. The ultrasil is very thin and delicate material. I think the other one would hold up much better.
I've got the Deuce Scoop from Ductware. Titanium, weighs 22 grams, and is very sturdy. No flex in it at all. And made in the USA.

I find 900ml the best size for one person. Just enough room to do some actual cooking in as apposed to solely boiling water in it.
I tried titanium for a while, but just kept burning everything...
