Counseling offered at Trail Days (Damascus, VA) Friday (5/16)

Counseling is being offered in the town of Damascus during Trail Days to hikers affected by the recent tragedy (or any other reason, I'm sure). The remaining sessions are tomorrow (Friday) at the following location and times:

One Way Ministries (across from Tent City)

11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Group session at 4 p.m.

Thanks for posting! That's excellent news! Many hikers I have spoken with and who are new to the trails are still grappling with what happened. It can be a scary thing, even if you are a veteran hiker. ATStrong.

I am not familiar with One Way Ministries.

Do they have trained/certified counselors experienced in this sort of thing?

One Way Ministries is providing the venue but is not affiliated with the counselor in the free services being provided. The person providing counseling is a professional counselor endorsed by the Town of Damascus and others in the community.
