Princess is half lab and half pit bull. She will chew your leg off, but she'll bring it back.:) Been my baby for 12 years now.

Bella is our new addition to the family. She is a 5 month old Chessie.

209thruhiker: Bella looks great. Taken her on the trail yet? Are you getting her ready for 2009? -SunnyWalker
Click on my photo gallery to see Winston Wonderdog on Big House Mtn. on my second date with Nessmuk (aka Wayne). Win is a gun-shy velcro dog in the house, but the best trail dog I could ever want.:sun

Was admiring a nice Chessie the other day. Yours is certainly handsome.
Hello from the very southern part of the Shenandoah Valley!
Dog fun....get a big beach ball that is too big for the dog to bite. Toss the ball, dog jumps at ball, dog bounces ball back to you. It's a great game of catch. That works better than the soccer ball. Winter had better offense than I had defense and she kept eating the soccer balls.
....Way Too Many PuPs........

Love the pictures. So many adorable pups! I'd love to show you our baby, Brigid, so can someone explain how to attach thumbnails?
Backpacking dogs, Tipi-living dogs, tent-eating dogs: These guys understood Nature and the Whole Point of Being Out. The big malamute was a mystic visitor who walked the tipi trails and would stop in to say hello. Maggot, the german shepherd, was my companion for many years up at the lodge. Backpacking Shunka is my current best friend, he knows how to pump nylon, loves the snow, doesn't snivel(much), and knows the difference between city life and the Great Outdoors.
Beau's been with me on the vast majority of my hikes. He's also the last remaining 4-legged member of my crew at UberPest.com. This is from a few years back at a State Park in Indiana.

If you have a dog that accompanied you on a THRU HIKE ALL THE WAY (on At) how about putting their photo here on this thread? So far we have had "hiking dogs". How about some "Thru Hiking Dogs"?

here is a photo of Buddy from last week :)
He had a very warm and cozy mat to sleep on!
SW: It is not possible to thru hike the entire way with a dog, they are not allowed in several areas on the A.T.
http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/...imageuser=5017 not sure how this will show up, but here's my old hiking buddy in his younger days. this was taken at or near Jenkins Meadow.
Great photo RiverWarrior. I see HOI standing back there - man he gets around :)
Here are some pics of NEMO, a volunteer trail dog, and greeter of famous, and infamous hikers from around the world!
We clean trash from campfires, we clean up "Trail Magic" trash left behind at Little Gap, we get drinks from Stempa's Spring, we do corridor boundry work, ......................it's the best life a dog could have.
