New Solo Hiker looking for help

Rate this Entry
I'm heading up to Flat Rock this summer, and hope to get out on the trail for about a week. I'll be near asheville so any trails relatively close by would be ideal. I'd be going with one or two friends. We are all former scouts and have experience hiking with our troops, but this would be our first time on our own. I have done a three day loop that included: shining rock, and cold mountain. I'm not sure what trails would be good, and am open to any suggestions. Thanks.

You are probably familiar with the Art Loeb since you've been to Cold Mountain, but that trail is your best bet--you get a little bit of everything-locals call it the mini AT.
