    The 2019 mileages for Appalachian Trail shelters are out. There were some minor mileage changes on the trail in GA, NC, Central VA, CT and MA. In all there was only 1.1 miles added to the whole trail for 2019.

    Of course their hoping conditions improve and restrictions are removed sometime this spring. But considering things are getting worse and the vaccine

    Numbers seemed slightly down from what I saw. Especially vs 2019 when they were first showing those.

    It does seem like very muddled messaging.

    Not sure why anyone would actually care if the ATC "recognizes" their hike or not, I've never understood this. Zero importance.
