5 May 2011 - Thu- Day 52: Clear/ 70F 24.6 miles to mile 776.7 Glasgow, VA. Hitched to the town of Glasgow which is a long hitch. There is a shelter for hikers in town, but it is a cement slab with a roof. The town is very friendly, but not convenient to get to.

8 May 2011 - Sun -Day 55: overcast/ 65F 20 miles to mile 824.2 Tye River. Plenty of campsites next to the river. It is a little dirty but the roar of the river makes up for the litter.

9 May 2011 - Mon - Day 56: Clear/70F 25 miles to mile 849 Paul C. Wolfe Shelter. This is a great shelter location next to a large creek. The shelter is supposed to be haunted but I got no haunts. Very Easy 25 miles
