  1. Just little Old me

    My love of backpacking started on the rolling hills of the Green Mountains in Vermont; while I was going to college in Burlington, Vermont. It wasn't untill the spring of 1996 when I first set my feet on the AT.

    Since then my last companion (WOODY) and I have hiked over large sections of the AT (from 1600 to 1400 miles on each hike). In all our years we both have spent more then three and a half years and over 10,000 miles living in the mountains of the Eastern United States. In 2005 ...

    It rained all morning. I am tired of the rain. I know I should not complain. It is nothing close to the rain the thru hikers experienced in 2003. I know a couple of people that hiked in 2003 and they told me about all the rain they received that year.

    Not much to say about the walking today. Just another day in the Vermont mud, hence the nick name us hikers have given the state, Vermud.
