26 Apr 2011 - Tues - Day 43: NERO day. Made it to Pearisburg, VA at mile 627.7 (8.7 miles). Picked up mail drop package. Stayed in hotel and ate at an all you can eat Chinese buffet. Really good food. Rain and windy.

27 Apr 2011 - Wed - Day 44: NERO day. Hiked to Rice Field Shelter at mile 634 (6.3 miles). Shelter is packed. 75 degrees and breezy.

28 Apr 2011 - Thurs - Day 45: Hiked to a campsite at the 655 mile mark (21 miles).

19 Apr 2011 - Tues - Day 36: Hiked to Big Wilson Creek Campsite (16.2 miles). Today’s highlight was seeing the wild ponies! Another highlight was that today I hiked the last 5000 ft mountain until New England. My feet swelled again. This time my toes hit the end of the shoes. I am so glad I will get new shoes in the package tomorrow! 70 degrees partly sunny and windy.

12 Apr 2011 - Tues - Day 29: Hiked to Elk Park, NC ( 23.5 miles) and stayed at Mountain Harbor Bed and Breakfast and hostel. The is the friendliest and cleanest hostel so far. The hostel is above the horse barn. It is easy to get to. Weather was horrible: 50mph winds, rain, sleet, snow and hail. NOT fun! I think I had mild hypothermia for 2 hours.

5 Apr 2011 - Tues - Day 22: Zero day in Hot Springs, NC. Spent time going over gear and repairing shoes with goo. Also bought rubber tips for my walking sticks, a new wicking shirt, new insoles for my shoes, a new pair of socks, and a pair of camp shoes. Expensive stop. Quiet little town. I was exhausted.
