I learned firsthand that it's the fellowship, kindness, and sharing along the way that truly makes the journey such a rich experience. The AT is really about people. From the hikers; to the trail angels; to the trail crews & clubs; to the hostel, motel, & tavern owners etc: I thank you all, and I thank God for His many blessings that came our way to make this adventure possible. Gorbo Gordon 2011 July 11, 2007 September 21, 2011 A 4 year flip-flop. 2007 hiked MA to Katahdin. After reaching the Big K I had to get off the trail because of knee issues. After 2 knee replacements I returned to the AT to complete hike from MA to Springer. Since then I have continued to hike with no knee issues. Metal knees are great!
