I believe this is at RT 42 in Sinking Creek Valley, Va. Clicking on the picture to enlarge it you can see the White Church down the Rd where they used to let hikers camp on their lawn...... I could be wrong but I believe this is it.
The trail comes out to the road beside a red roofed house that I heard burnt down a year ago or so. I let Hammock Hanger out here one cold and sleeting night after picking her up at the Amtrack station in Clifton Forge, Va.
