I was doing a rain test in my backyard. This is made out of .7oz spinnaker sail material and the "Tarp" only weighs 12.6. It is almost 10 foot long.

Leaving off the trim would have made it a couple ounces lighter. I made a 1.1oz MacCat Deluxe Clone with no trim and even with all guidelines a pair of niteize figure 9s, some guideline tensioners, and snakeskins mine weighs 12.1oz. If pitches just as well with out the trim. The trim is more for looks.
