This thru-hiker is from Baltimore, MD. We met him here at the Appalachian Trail Metro North train station at 2:50 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2009. Do steam trains really stop here. Passenger trains do! A train stop just for hikers!

No Steam is not leaving the trail to catch a train. He is just taking a break for a pose.
