It's in Gathland State Park in Maryland.

I crossed Maryland a couple of years and thought this was a monument in honor of Union Civil War Gen. Reno who was killed near there, it was storming and foggy, did I miss something.

I hate replying to such an old post but..Yes you missed something..Reno Monument Rd is farther north of this spot....This is one of those "ageless" spots I always speak of..I used to hike thru here 3-4 times a year back in the early-mid 70`s and I was back up there again the past weekend and it still looks the same as it did back then
