I think you can just see one of the first cantilevered highway bridges built in the U.S., back in the 70's. There was apparently very little space between the river and mountain for another few lanes, so they went that route rather than tunneling.

The date stamp on my camera says I started the climb at 21:15 and "summitted" at 21:46. The view from the top is usually shot with the camera's preset distance. I zoomed in a bit. Most shots make it seem like a mile-high cliff. The climb is difficult but not daunting.
