Jake "popcorn" Sutton

One of the last old-time moon shiners of East Tennessee. Popcorn had been convicted in federal court for the manufacture and distribution of untaxed liquor. While awaiting sentencing, Popcorn committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. It was a very sad day in East Tennessee when news of his death got out. I've had the honor of "sharing shine" with him, and he was one unique and caring individual. I'm honored to have had the chance to call him "friend" when he was among the living. RIP Popcorn - you were a gentleman's gentleman.
