Getting to Wood's Hole Hostel About ten miles south of Pearisburg (as a hiker walks) you come across the dirt roads that intersect at Sugar Run Gap. If you are going south on the AT, you'll be coming down a hill as you reach the road, and you thus turn left. If going north, it's uphill, and you turn right.
