Both of my MSR clones of Bill Moss's Wing tarps have Velcro closing pockets at each tie out point Very handy. Velcro cable ties might work, if you could secure one end to the tarp and wrap the Velcro strip around the coiled cord.

The length, composition, thickness, and exact properties of the type of cord you use as well as how you pack it plays into avoiding bird nests. On my 1-2 p UL tarp's(CF, spinnaker, silny) gross grained side guy outs I typically use 18-30" lengths of 1.25 mm Z-line Spectra or Kelty Triptease Lightline with Bow Line or Tautline Hitches left on the ends leaving them attached to the tarp as I loosely pack it in it's loose stuff sack. On my ridgeline tie outs(A-frame set up) I leave about 6-7' of 1.5 Z-Line Spectra or Kelty Triptease Lightline w/ no knots left in the lines. Only issue I may have is when everything is drenched in which case I thoroughly dry my lines and tarp ASAP avoiding stuffing everything into a stuff sack when wet.
You might try a rubber band on UL tie outs after coiling too. I did that for awhile with different tie out cord.
I just coil mine up, holding the line in my hand where it's attached to the webbing tie out, and wrapping the line around my hand. Then just tie it off with the free end of the line.

I use to coil mine, but eventually decided that it's too much work. I decided folding my solo sized tarp was easier. I throw the lines inside as I fold it and they never tangle. It also ends up taking less space in the stuff sack than stuffing as well.
I figure 8 it around my pinkey and pointer finger. It never tangles
get some snake skins and just tuck them in. I don't have problems with tangles... at least tangles that are more cumbersome than rolling and tying all six cords, and then untying
Shock cord.

Another vote for Spectra - Z-Packs Z-Line.
Yep, zpacks 1.25mm zline never has given me a single issue. Its stiff enough it doesnt tangle. Just fold tarp, roll up, stuff in sack.
Likely a bit more to execute...... this was one of the reasons I switched to a mid style tarp. much shorter tieout and this issue was eliminated.
I did see recommended wrapping around apiece of foam.It did work but is a bit of a faff.Mostly I make sure they are stretched out and put them into the centre of the tarp as others have suggested.
