Default SOBO. In 2017 looking for person(s) to camp support

My husband and I will be doing our second thru hike in 2017. This time we are seeking someone to follow us down the trail meeting us at roads for Resupply type activities. Is anyone aware of people that do this?

are you asking for one person for the whole trail or just for certain sections?

would cost a lot, but with so many out of work you could get help for 4-5 months.

Saying it would cost a lot is the understatement of the day.

Usually a spouce or significant other takes on the roll of roving support. To pay someone to do that would be insanely expensive. Well okay, to pay me to do it would be insanely expensive. You'd have to pay all my expenses for the duration plus some stipen to make it worth while.

To arrange to have locals come out with supplies or take you to town when you need a shower and bed would likely be less expensive, but arranging it and co-ordinating it would be a nightmare.

I think there are people out there that are retired and might enjoy using their RV for such an adventure. They may not be able to hike the trail but want the experience. Some expense on my part would be expected but I think a joint venture is more what I am looking for.

I'm sorry...what? Your planning a thru in 4 years and want a total stranger(s) to act as a support crew with SOME expense on your part? What 'experience' do you expect THEM to have? Grocery shopping and waiting for hours/days at trailheads? Well....good luck with that. Unless you're going for a speed record, why not just do it the ol' fashion way?

I am very aware of what it takes to thru-hike but I also know there are people who might enjoy such an adventure of assisting hikers while they see the country on their own. I wasn't looking for someone to be available every day maybe every 10 days. I posted because I was looking for a special type of person(s) that might be interested in coordinating their trip with mine not to be trashed by people who think they are experts on every subject

So. You are roughly four years out? That is a long time. A lot changes in a year let alone 4.
