Default Water Unicoi Gap to Dick's Creek Gap

Anyone know the current water availability from Unicoi Gap to Dick's Creek Gap? I'm considering doing this hike with one night of camping with two energetic 11 year olds. Any opinions on the suitability would be appreciated. We had no trouble going from Woody Gap to Neels gap with an overnight stop.

This thread is about a good a source as you will find--and there has not been a good rain since the last post. http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/show...ighlight=water Addis Gap was reported dry, no report on the spring at the shelter at Tray Mtn. Ron keeps a current post on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Rons-Appala...14034/?fref=ts

I haven't heard anything about the spring at Sassafras Gap. It would probably be a haul, but head SE (right) down Addis Gap. If you are in dire straits on water you can dump out on Wildcat Road eventually and get water, though you might have to hike until Moccasin Creek merges with it.

That sounds disappointing. I think we can make it without water if we start with 3 liters each. Ouch. It'll be cooler than last weekend. That should help.
