    Default Cabin on Mount Greylock

I've seen online some photos of a small cabin on a pond near the peak of mt Greylock in ma, has anyone ever stayed there, or can you even stay there? How do you get there and is there anything in the cabin.

It's not a cabin, more a tiny derelict structure that you wouldn't want to stay in.

Isn't that little hut where the pumps for the water system for the summit are?

Years back I walked over and took a look inside. Octothor is right. As I recall dumpy uneven structure. Surprised it's still standing.

That's what I think it is. The pipe coming out of it heads towards the lodge.

Yes, it's the former pump house. Not for use by the public. Only overnight facility at the summit is Bascom Lodge, open seasonally. Fee, no work for stay. The two closest AT overnight sites are a bout 4 miles N or S--easy hikes to either.
