Not surprised. We had cold rain down here in the Berkshire Hills. Cold Rain and 39. Very important to have the correct equipment. Noticed several cars overnight at the Pittsfield Road trailhead which tells me people are trying out semi cold weather gear in the Oct Mt. - Kay Wood shelter areas. Might even venture out with a tent myself next week.
