Default Bedbugs @ the NOC bunkhouse?

A shuttle driver in Franklin, NC passed along a rumor to me yesterday that there was talk of a recent bedbug outbreak at the NOC bunkhouse. Has anyone else heard of this and has any solid knowledge? I am not saying this is true and right now it seems to be a low quality rumor but on the other hand I don't want to take the chance of having my gear infected.

This is your first post and you want to pass along a rumor about bed bugs. Please just go away!!!!!!

Seeing that the NOC bunk houses use vinyl covered mattress and you supply your own sleeping bag, I find it hard to believe there can be bed bugs in the bunks. The cabins on the other hand maybe could, as they have real beds.

I also heard it was a room, and this is a legitimate subject regardless if it is a first post, so stay.

Begbugs on the trail are really a lot less of a issue then bedbugs at home, not that you would want to stay at a place with them, but it is much more manageable to clear yourself of a infestation incase you do.

I agree, unless you are going to stay in a hotel or with friends they will just be along for the ride, and they won't threaten your health like ticks will. That being said I still looked for bed bugs at every hostel, hotel and bunk house that I stayed in, I never saw one. On the Camino this is a much bigger problem as the outbreaks can cause massive closures in the hostels along the way.

There was a thread here a week or two ago.
    Perhaps it vanished?

This may be the post that gave rise to these rumors:
