We all know how important it is to keep us and our gear dry, in making some UL DIY gear I am wondering if anyone has ever applied neverwet? It is a hydrophobic material so it should help keep everything dry. Any Thoughts?

"It's fun to have fun, but you have to know how." ---Dr. Seuss
It seems like there is a lot of hope for this type of stuff, and it's been available for a while but there doesn't seem to be any practical uses of it yet for backpacking. At least not the postings I have seen.
I have been following this product for a while. As it has developed, it is not really for outdoor gear use. One, not abrasion resistant and two, very expensive. I found silicone spray to be the best alternative so far for tent and sil nylon stuff sacks, DWR for rain gear, and acceptance for the rest. It rains, we hike, we get wet.
