Kinda why I chose the Blast 32. I go out all year long, whenever possible. Needed the space for winter gear, but noted how well this pack and fold down and cinch up if necessary for when I don't...
Excellent choice! :D
I've enjoyed hiking in July through VA. Warm/hot weather is just a part of hiking, as is the cold winter. I never wait for good weather, I just get out and go!
Have a great hike! Blackburn Trail Center is a pretty nice spot, and Bears Den Hostel is an awesome deal! The creeks through out the roller coaster should be flowing very strong too. You've got me...
submerse in tub of water, squeeze,,, watch for bubbles.
I worked out the set up I wanted for the pack with Joe via email, and ordered my cuben Blast today. I am very pleased with this decision and will gladly await it's arrival. In the mean time my 6...

Maybe a bit $$, but you can't beat the weight of cuben fiber! Great tarps!
we are a "have it now" society" any more it seems. A little wait will be ok as you have a light weight functuining pack to use in the interim. In other words - it's all good! :-)
I'm emailing back and forth with Joe from Z-packs the past few days getting ready to pull the trigger on a Blast pack myself.
After considering the weight, and really really enjoying going...
Stranger is obviously not a fan of these packs! WoW!
When it comes to gear there really is no wrong answer, only opinions. If you wish to try this pack out, for that price it's no real loss if...
I have dreams remembering past hikes on the AT and other trails many times. Dreaming of a thru hike is almost constant, day or night, with me!

The heel should not be loose...
I love the smell of rain in the morning....
smells like... hikin' weather to me! :jump
This would be an excellent choice. It's down filled, which makes it cost more than synthetic, but it's ooohhh so light.

Best wishes as you celebrate your birthday!
I might catch you for the first few days. I usually go out over the 4th around that area. I live just up the road from HF. I'll mark it down and let you know for sure as the time gets closer. ...
You've asked a very broad question. What works and what doesn't is often dependant on the person. For instance, some like tents, some just a tarp, some in hammocks,.... Some cook with cannister...
That was a cool perspective! Thanks for sharing!
I use the REI Sahara shirt year round. It breaths well when it's hot, yet helps keep me warm when it's cool. It's easy to roll the sleeves up/down, dries quick, and doesn't weigh much if I toss it...
I've thru hiked SNP twice, NOBO both times. For the most part, I found the hike extremely enjoyable.
April - Nov is the best season to go. The waysides are open, and the blackberry milkshakes...

Definitely good news! :banana
Yupper! As of last year anyway. I'm hoping to head that way in April and will be trying to time my lunch break there.
+1 to this. Great advice SBHikes!!
